Saturday we are tasting some wines from our June wine club selection.
We are featuring some of your lastest favorites and award winning wines. Some are organic, some are first vintage others are tried and true favorites. Come check out these wines.

Swirl Wine Club Selection

Spearhead White Pinot Noir 2017 (East Kelowna) 
This is a very unique wine.  It is challenging to make a white wine from red pinot noir grapes.  A few wineries in Oregon are doing it as are some Alsatian wineries. Spearhead’s White Pinot Noir is a great food wine with rounded edges to compliment richer cuisine. Fruit forward palate with gentle strawberry, raspberry and white nectarine notes. Full mouth feel and medium acidity give way to a rich mid palate.
Moraine Pinot Gris 2017( Naramata) 
Moraine made their Pinot Gris in the Alsatian style:  which means full bodied, fruit forward (but not sweet) and elegant; look for notes of Bosc pairs and nectarines on both the nose and the palate.  A summer staple wine, this will be excellently with grilled white fish, Waldorf salads or shellfish.  Put a bottle in the fridge when you go to pick up your spot prawns in May and you won’t be disappointed.
Gehringer Brothers Optimum Pinot Noir 2016 (Oliver) 
The Optimum line is based on those lots of wine that distinguish themselves as special. Only small amounts of these wines create Optimum Pinot Noir.
On the nose, heaps of ripe Okanagan plums and black cherries lift from the bouquet. On the palate, this full-bodied Pinot offers a tremendous concentration of jammy plum and berry fruit. Hints of chocolate and spice, complemented by soft velvety tannins, are framed with French oak. Will pair well with beef and traditional heavier styled foods. Great with chocolate as well due to small amount of residual sugar.
Lunessence Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (Summerland) 
Just released! One of the best selling BC Cabs! Aged 6 months in Slovakian, Hungarian, and French oak, and 6 months in stainless steel. This wine captures the essence of the terroir and the characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon. Black forest fruit and pepper underlined with oak and tannin.
