At the tasting bar... Whispering Horse Winery - July 20, 2018

Whispering Horse vineyards lie nestled along the foot of the beautiful Vedder Mountain, located in the Fraser Valley, BC. The relatively northern latitude, along with warm summer days and cool fall nights, lends a vibrant acidity and inherent freshness to our wines. Located above an old river bed, the soil type is sandy loam, with river rocks and pebbles braided throughout; remnants from a past river. This unique soil type and structure not only facilitates drainage from the often heavy spring rains, but also contributes a unique and subtle minerality to their wines.

This new winery was a great new find! We are hosting Laurent the winemaker to showcase two of is new and award winning wines!

Pinot Gris Rose 2017

To create the uniquely vibrant color, our Pinot Gris was hand-harvested, gently crushed, and left on the skins for 36 hours before fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where it aged for 5 months on the lees before being bottled unfitered. This crisp rosé displays great minerality and freshness, opening with juicy grapefruit, white peach, strawberry, and a gentle floral bouquet. This wine drinks well on it own, but would also pair beautifully with light appetizers or charcuterie/cheese boards.

L’Acadie Blanc 2017

Our L’Acadie Blanc was hand-harvested and gently crushed before undergoing fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where it aged for 5 months on the lees before being bottled unfiltered. This bright, bold, aromatic white, displays notes of ripe citrus, peach, and acacia blossoms. Best enjoyed with seafood, fish, and poultry.
