Pinot Gris 2016
A classic Okanagan Pinot Gris, this offering from Blasted Church starts off with pineapple, melon and peat. The palate is full bodied with notes of red apple, honeydew and a rich finish. Great with scallops or grilled garlic prawns. 2018 All Canadian Wine Championship bronze medal winner.
Sauvignon Blanc 2016
The summer ready Sav Blanc has a wonderful nose that’s both grassy and fully of tropical fruit. The grassy notes carry over through the palate where they are joined by citrus notes, lemon taking the lead. Just a hint of oaking give this wine a nice creamy mouth feel and lingering finish. 2017 All Canadian Wine Championship gold medal winner.
Big Bang Theory 2017
This a merlot driven blend with some Cab Sav, Franc, Pinot Noit and… Lemberger – German grape that adds tannis a bit of spiceness. The nose carries red fruit with black cherries and chocolate. The palate is mostly dark fruit – plum and blueberry – with a hint of mint. The tannins build through the long finish. A great wine for a casual BBQ or pizza night.
Cabernet Merlot 2016
Cabernet Sauvignon leads off this blend at 63%, followed by Merlot at 32% and there’s a bit of Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cab Franc to round it out. The is result is a full bodied red with a wonderful nose of cassis, dried herbs and leather. The palate is rich and complex, with more dark fruit: cassis, black cherry with dried herbs and cocoa. There’s a lot of potential for aging wine, an extra 3-5 years will see a lot more added complexity. Perfect with thick steaks or game.
