Pinot Blanc 2017
Growers Series Pinot Blanc by Clos du Soleil was fermented exclusively in stainless steel. The cellaring of this wine was done in a way that optimized the endearing floral scents. Other aromas, including apple, pear and nectarine, come together on the nose. These aromas balance beautifully against a backdrop of apple, pear and baking spice flavours - with a diagnostic salty Similkameen terroir nuance on the finish. This Growers Series wine pairs effortlessly with grilled fish and pasta.
Fume Blanc 2016
The nose of this wine immediately envelops the taster in ripe fruit aromas of grapefruit, apple, pear, and ripe lemons, with notes of gunflint and the beautiful floral notes of lilac in full bloom. On the palate the wine is full bodied with a rich mouthfeel, incorporating flavours of ripe apples and pears, complex layers of citrus including characteristic varietal flavours of grapefruit, as well as a subtle hint of oak.
Clos du Soleil’s Bordeaux-style white is a classic, cellar-worthy blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Light gold in the glass, it entices with aromas of lemon, lime and pink grapefruit. Citrus stays dominant on the palate, but this big-bodied blend also features notes of peach, passion fruit and lively minerality with a long finish. Enjoy now with seafood or roast chicken, or tuck away a bottle and let age do its work for up to five years. Over the past few years Clos du Soleil have been incorporating some biodynamic practices into their farming regime, and keeping intervention as low as possible in the winery.
Célestiale is an easy-drinking, Bordeaux-style red blend, which introduces itself with aromas of dark fruit and berries. These aromas carryover through to the palate, and are joined by exquisite spice acquired during 15 months in French oak barrels. Its well-rounded profile makes this wine a crowd-pleaser.
Grower’s Series Syrah 2015Immediately the perfumed nose of this wine envelops the taster with aromas of freshly crushed raspberries and black currants complimented with subtle notes of baking spice, sagebrush, and pepper.
On the palate a bright and fresh acidity is met with these same flavours of wild raspberries accented with notes of blackcurrant and a hint of cloves. Soft and supple in the mouth with very fine tannins, this exclusive and limited production Syrah is an opportunity to see a new side of Clos du Soleil.
