Fitz Blanc de Blanc 2014
The 2014 Reserve Blanc de Blancs is as crisp and refined as the packaging it wears. The 2014 vintage was very good to us with warm winds blowing up from the south to complement what was already a good growing season at Fitz. This crisp and refined wine presented us with a debate at bottling. To dosage or not to dosage? Because of the warmth of the year, it was close to perfect in profile. But in the end, we added just the smallest dosage to round it out a little. It was the right call. Our Reserve Sparkling wines are rested on lees longer than any other in our sparkling wine program at no less than 36 months. The result is real richness and complexity in the wine – a quality you can’t rush. The Fitz Reserve Blanc de Blancs is made using traditional methods from 100% estate grown Chardonnay grapes from Greata Ranch Vineyard.
Fitz Rose Sparkling 2014
The Sparkling Rosé is comprised of 100% estate grown Pinot Noir.
An elegant sparkling Rosé with real depth and a beautiful pale, gem-like colour. Bright green apple and rhubarb on the nose and palate with an intense sparkle and creamy mousse. The finish is long with hints of tannin, minerality, and brioche revealed at completion.
Interloper Gewurztraminer 2017
Our discerning, resident bear loves Gewϋrztraminer. She picks perfectly ripe clusters from the vine with the same care we do, and then makes short work of them. We, on the other hand, gently press ours, and then use a long, cool ferment to preserve all their beautiful flavour. To each their own.
Sudden Inversion Meritage 2016
The warm air rising off Okanagan Lake creates very bumpy air for local pilots. It also warms our vineyard, but not quite enough to ripen the “big reds.” So we turned the Valley upside down to find perfect fruit for our Meritage. Rich, ripe and smooth. If we want bumps, we’ll rent a plane.
