Stu Morton At the Tasting Bar - Friday March 16, 2018 from 330-630pm

Stu Morton Agencies is the agent for a few of our favorite small BC wineries.

This weekend he will be pouring wines from '3' wineries: Black Market, Hugging Tree and Lunessence.

These wines are all staff favorites in our store and we can not wait for some new releases to hit the shelves in the following months. Until then... enjoy these wines this weekend. Because do we really need green beer?

Black Market Collusion 2016 $23.99

77% Sauvignon Blanc – 23% Semillon

Both varietals were fermented separately in stainless steel. All of the Semillon and a small portion of the Sauvignon Blanc were then aged 6 months in barrel. A crisp, medium-bodied wine with a creaminess to the texture. Citrus notes of lemon and lime, gooseberry and ruby-red grapefruit with a bit of caramel on the finish. Beautifully balanced with a clean finish.

Lunessence Reserve Chardonnay 2015 $29.99

Hand-picked from a beautiful vineyard in Osoyoos, this wine underwent wild fermentation in a stainless steel tank for 19 days. 30% of the wine was aged for 7 months in Slovakian Oak.This is a full-bodied Chardonnay with equal balance of butter, nut and citrus with a creamy mouth feel. Weighty and elegant with a delicate, lingering finish.

Hugging Tree Moonchild Merlot 2014

This Merlot has a touch of Syrah to give it an exciting spicy note. Look for black forest cake on the bouquet (mocha, vanilla, and chocolate cherries), accompanied by dark plum and violets. The palate has notes of dark fruit cassis and some firm tannins.

Black Market Syrah 2015

Full-bodied with a luscious mouth feel, the tannins are lifted by a hint of acidity.  Aromas of blueberry, blackberry and a bit of smoke are followed on the palate by savoury notes of black olive, clove and smoked bacon. The wine lingers with the hallmark pepper notes on the long finish.

Lunessence Crescendo Red 2015

The wine went through full malolactic fermentation. Ageing took six months in a variety of Slovakian and French oak, then stainless steel tanks for six months. This is a first vintage of a Lunessence signature blend that consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The main focus was to produce wine with bold, ripe and deep character, ready to be enjoyed but also suitable for ageing. Decanting recommended. Unfined and unfiltered.
