Swirl Wine Club Wines

Privato Pinot Gris 2016 (Kamloops)

A fruit forward wine, aromas of warm granny smith apples, white nectarines and floral jasmine are dominant on the nose. Delicate flavours of nectarines and floral notes are showcased by hints of citrus on the palate. This is Privato’s second vintage of Pinot Gris produced from well established vines in Lake Country. Gently pressed to minimize extraction of harsh components from the skins and seeds. This Pinot Gris will go with just about everything. It pairs well with delicately flavored dishes with rich sauces. Backyard BarBQ’s, especially halibut, Thai food such as green coconut curries, mussels in a creamy sauce laced with Pinot Gris are all excellent options.

Joie Reserve Muscat 2017 (Naramata)

Joie planted just two acres of this Moscato Giallo (also known as Yellow Muscat) and makes their “Pure Grape” Muscat in the Italian style. The nose is white pepper, white peach and freesia. The palate is balanced lemon, lime and kumquat. This dry, low alcohol is great as an aperitif alongside a cheese plate.

Harper’s Trail Cabernet Franc 2016 (Kamloops)

Harper’s Trail Estate Winery, named for the cattle drive “trail” of pioneer rancher Thaddeus Harper, is the first winery from Kamloops. Tucked into the city outskirts on the bank of the South Thompson River, Ed and Vicki Collett’s vineyard sits among rolling hills of sage and grass, home to Bighorn sheep, bears, and myriad birds. The backdrop of limestone, Hoodoos, and a natural spring set the biodiversity of this rare place. The wines reflect the region, with the minerality and crisp acidity that are becoming known to exemplify the South Thompson area. Incredibly bright, delicate, floral, and mineral aromas are followed on a medium-weight palate with bright raspberry flavours and a subtle chocolate background. The finish is lily fresh, stoney, and long. A great match for duck, lamb or mushroom dishes.

Siren’s Call Harmonious 2013(Okanagan Falls)

Harmonious is blended from the five classic grapes characteristic to Bordeaux style red blend: MerlotCabernet SauvignonMalbecPetit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Each batch was fermented separately and lovingly tended with daily punch downs and 20+ days of skin contact to extract a rich array of soft and big tannins and fruit notes. The nose shows cedar, dried fruit, meaty, black currant and floral notes and the taste is big and round, well balanced and firm, ripe tannins. Age worthy wine that pairs well with rib eye steak or prime rib.
