Giant Head Winery

Giant Head Estate Winery is one of the award winning Summerland wineries located at the start of the scenic Bottleneck Drive winery tour route. The Winery overlooks Lake Okanagan from the sandy benches below Giant’s Head Mountain in Summerland, British Columbia.

Owners, John Glavina and Jinny Lee have been growing grapes, and making small case-lot artisan wines since 2008. Coincidentally, Glavina is a Croatian name meaning ‘Giant Head’. As a family estate winery, they have full control over the vineyard and winemaking practices, and their approach is simple: make small batches as grapes ripen, and blend the batches based on their characteristics.

Blanc De Noir 2016

Blanc de Noir is made from one hundred percent estate grown Pinot Noir grapes. This wine is perfect for any special occasion, pairing with seafood or on its own as a refresher on a hot summer’s day. Wine is made by lightly pressing whole cluster, early harvest Pinot Noir grapes, to extract maximum flavor and as little color as possible.
Best of Category – Charmat Method at the 2016 Northwest Wine Summit.

Canyonview Chardonnay 2016

Vibrant nots of tropical fruit and citrus. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Further aging in bottles will develop honey and buttery notes.

Canyonview Pinot Noir 2016

Deep, rich, fruit-forward and aged in French oak barrels. Further aging in bottles will develop velvety and softer tannins.

Merlot 2015

Gold medal winner at National Wine Awards 2018

This wine is made from one hundred percent estate grown Merlot grapes. This wine is full-bodied and oak aged in French barrels to create a balanced, complex and dry red wine. The flavours found in this wine are dark cherries and chocolate, followed by vanilla and smoke to create a well balanced, decadent wine.
