Bench 1775 Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah
A winemaker always loves to create a wine that piques your interest and this unusual blend does just that, with a nod to the great CSMs of Australia. 2015 brought us wonderful, ripe fruit flavours and tannins, so the timing was perfect to create this blend for the first time at Bench 1775.
48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46.5% Syrah, 5.5% Merlot
Smoked black cherry, ripe black raspberry, smoked meats, and black pepper on a thick, branchy, dense palate, ringed with medicinal resinous pitch and hugged by tuggy, black tea tannins. Mint pops up now and again, providing a welcome blast of freshness to this full bodied, ripe, thick red.
